THE CHALLENGE
An especially high-quality book – not just for the 40th anniversary of the association.
THE SOLUTION
What do you do when the top German photographers ask you to design their annual? You think about photos. And because the book presents the WHO, WHERE and WHAT, we wanted to engage with the HOW in the design, and made the 2009 yearbook into a fully functional camera obscura using a partially transparent slipcase and hole-punching. The following year, 2010, we simulated a classic rangefinder camera and in 2011, we paid homage to the display of a single-lens reflex camera – thanks to a lenticular cover, you can put the BFF logo into focus by rotating the book. This resulted in an essential working manual for the industry and a unique photographic art book.
