MySkoob
THE TASK
Brand positioning and eBook design for MySkoob.
THE CHALLENGE
To publish classical literature in a contemporary format for tablet PCs.
THE SOLUTION
Strichpunkt not only created a completely new brand presence for MySkoob from logo to website to print media, but also helped it to publish the first illustrated classic e-book series with its own independent, integrated design. Text, photography and illustrations combine to form a high-quality product that creates a whole new reading experience for texts such as Romeo and Juliet, Moby Dick and Robinson Crusoe on tablet PCs like the iPad. This starts with the title: it spells out the name of the work’s hero – because on the Web, everyone is on first-name terms. Of course, alongside photo collages and typography, a great deal of emphasis was also placed on the design of the text, which has for a long time suffered a rather drab existence in eBooks.
With its innovative design standards, the start-up company got off to a flying start and subsequently stormed the eBook charts – Apple founder Steve Wozniak was one of the first fans.
