THE CHALLENGE
How do I create a cult brand?

THE SOLUTION
Fisticuffs for Faust: the new theatre emblem caused a furore nation-wide. A left-wing greeting as a symbol for a national theatre? An affront to some politicians – albeit explicable as an inane metaphor for the opening piece, Goethe’s Faust. But the idea took off. With the momentum supplied by the new image, Stuttgart Theatre was voted Theatre of the Year during its first season with the design becoming a firm component of Stuttgart’s theatre culture and the approx. 20 theme-based programmes designed every year by Strichpunkt have meanwhile become popular collectors’ items.
