First place and three other top positions in the IÖW ranking for sustainability reports.

Germany’s former Labour Minister, Franz Josef Jung, honoured the BASF SE Annual Report as the best German sustainability report on 23.11.2009 in Berlin. BASF therefore tops the 2009 ranking by the Institut für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung (IÖW). The sustainability reports produced by the 150 largest German companies were examined as well as the reports of smaller and medium-sized companies in a separate ranking. The sustainability report produced by Landesbank Baden-Württemberg made the greatest leap forward in the ranking – from 38th place last year to 9th this time around.

In the ranking for smaller and medium-sized companies with more than 250 employees, the integrated report representing Solarworld AG took second prize with the result that of around 200 reports reviewed, three reports co-developed and designed by Strichpunkt were among the Top Ten. Likewise designed by Strichpunkt, the E.on AG sustainability report moved up 7 places to 13 despite the conscious decision to keep it lean.
