For the football teams sponsored by adidas in the 2010 World Cup, Strichpunkt produced an exclusive collector’s edition of the shirts, once again raising the bar a little higher in the world of packaging design.

Each of the limited-edition sets contained the latest team shirt as well as a vintage jersey – a perfect testimony to the fact that adidas goes hand in hand with international football history. The jerseys were celebrated in one of the most elaborate examples of packaging used by the sports clothing manufacturer: the box, which could be opened like a showcase, was finished with various coatings, embossed patterns, metal and foil. Designed in Germany, manufactured in the Far East, coordinated around the globe – and a resounding success for global sales at three times the price of the shirts on the market without the packaging.
