Ever since the brilliant Carl Scheufelen introduced art paper into Europe in 1892, the quality of paper from the Lenningen region in south-west Germany has been second to none – worldwide. Many other inventions from Germany have also left their mark on the world, even in language. This amazing 2014 wall calendar for the paper company focuses on this phenomenon – from “rucksack” to “kindergarten,” from “Bauhaus” to “schnapps” and “diesel,” from “glockenspiel” to “edelweiss”. It’s “wunderbar”!
It’s just as wonderful that the Scheufelen calendars, designed by Strichpunkt for the past ten years, have long since achieved cult status, and calendars from previous years still demand three-figure prices on eBay.
