Why business needs values
Digitization is at the top of the Otto Group's agenda. And yet - or rather for this very reason - the issue of values has been brought to the spotlight this year. Values in the company, in relation to challenges in the company and values in society.
We discuss how to deal with digitisation, we talk about climate change and political crises and address important issues such as:
How does the Otto Group act sustainably? How do you deal with raw materials, technological requirements or politics? How do you look after the customers and their future needs? Which values of the economy need special attention?
We discuss these questions with the Executive Board, employees or politicians. Be it in the company itself, at Cologne/Bonn Airport or at the "Digital Life Design" conference in Munich.
Commercial virtues such as reliability, fairness and responsibility are a matter of course for the Otto Group. The current challenge is to breathe new life into these values, to connect them with the digital revolution and to live them.
The topic of values also becomes visible in the presentation of the annual report. Sustainability plays a particularly important role here. Print on MSC mix and climate-neutral certified paper, a Swiss brochure with thread stitching, surrounding back-strip and laser cut on the cover. Plus five-colour print with a Pantone special colour. Thus, even in the production of the report, there is a skillfully accentuated reduction; always true to one's own values.
